The most magnificent experience in Prague is seeing the entire city spread out in front of you like a distended porcupine. From a hill in the Hradcany district, Kafka's city has more steeples than you can count, and a boat ride along the River Vlatava made me feel even smaller. This ancient, wondrous city is the coy little girl of cities, and easily competes with the grand European cities of big man Rome and chic feminine Paris.
